Agency for Science, Technology and Research

The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) is the lead agency for fostering world-class scientific research and talent for a vibrant knowledge-based and innovation-driven Singapore. A*STAR oversees 14 biomedical sciences and physical sciences and engineering research institutes, and six consortia and centres. A*STAR supports Singapore’s key economic clusters by providing intellectual, human and industrial capital to its partners in industry.

Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) ensures a resilient supply of safe food, safeguards the health of animals and plants, and facilitates agri-trade for Singapore.

Building and Construction Authority

The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) is an agency under the Ministry of National Development, championing the development of an excellent built environment for Singapore. BCA’s mission is to shape a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment.

Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Transport. Its roles are to enable the growth of the air hub and aviation industry, oversee and promote safety in the industry, provide air navigation services, and develop Singapore as a centre of excellence for aviation knowledge and human resource development.

Economic Development Board

The Economic Development Board (EDB) is the lead government agency for planning and executing strategies to enhance Singapore’s position as a global business centre. EDB dreams, designs and delivers solutions that create value for investors and companies in Singapore. Its mission is to create for Singapore, sustainable economic growth with vibrant business and good job opportunities.

Energy Market Authority

The Energy Market Authority (EMA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. It is the regulator of Singapore’s electricity and natural gas industries, and also serves as the power system operator. EMA’s main goals are to ensure a reliable and secure energy supply, promote effective competition in the energy market and develop a dynamic energy sector in Singapore.

Government Technology Agency of Singapore

The Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech) is tasked with harnessing info-communications technology and related engineering for public sector transformation. GovTech’s role include deploying a wide range of ICT solutions within the public sector, growing new capabilities and talent to support digital service delivery, and developing the Smart Nation infrastructure and applications.

Housing and Development Board

The Housing and Development Board (HDB) is Singapore’s public housing authority and a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development. HDB’s mission is to: provide affordable homes of quality and value; create vibrant and sustainable towns; and promote the building of active and cohesive communities.

Info-communications Media Development Authority

The Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) develops and regulates the converging infocomm and media sectors in a holistic way, creating a dynamic and exciting sector filled with opportunities for growth, through an emphasis on talent, research, innovation and enterprise.

International Enterprise Singapore

International Enterprise (IE) Singapore is the government agency driving Singapore’s external economy. It has been spearheading the overseas growth of Singapore-based companies and promoting international trade.

JTC Corporation

JTC Corporation is Singapore’s leading industrial infrastructure specialist spearheading the planning and development of a dynamic industrial landscape.

Land Transport Authority

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is responsible for planning, operating, and maintaining Singapore’s land transport infrastructure and systems. Its aim is to place motorists and public transport commuters at the heart of our transport system.

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has a mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre, and to advance and safeguard Singapore’s strategic maritime interests.

Ministry of National Development

The Ministry of National Development (MND) is the key government ministry responsible for national land use planning and development. Its mission is to develop world-class infrastructure, create a vibrant and sustainable living environment, and build rooted and cohesive communities.

Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources

The Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) is committed to providing Singaporeans with a quality living environment. Together with its statutory boards, the National Environment Agency and PUB, the national water agency, MEWR manages Singapore’s limited resources and addresses Singapore’s environmental sustainability challenges through innovation, vibrant partnerships and co-operation across the 3P sectors – private, public and people.

Ministry of Trade and Industry

The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) aims to promote sustained and inclusive economic growth, to create good quality jobs and support higher standards of living for Singaporeans.

Ministry of Transport

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) oversees the development and regulation of the civil aviation and air transport, maritime and ports, and land transport sectors. its main focus is to formulate policies and facilitate outcomes in the transport arena that will contribute to Singapore’s national competitiveness and raise the quality of life in Singapore.

National Climate Change Secretariat

The National Climate Change Secretariat (NCCS), under the Prime Minister’s Office, develops and implements Singapore’s domestic and international policies and strategies to tackle climate change. Its responsibilities are to facilitate efforts to mitigate carbon emissions in all sectors, help Singapore adapt to the effects of climate change, harness economic and green growth opportunities arising from climate change, and encourage public awareness and action on climate change.

National Environment Agency

The National Environment Agency (NEA) is the leading public organisation responsible for improving and sustaining a clean and green environment in Singapore. It develops and spearheads environmental initiatives and programmes through its partnership with the People, Public and Private sectors. NEA is committed to motivating every individual to take up environmental ownership and to care for the environment as a way of life.

National Parks Board

The National Parks Board (NParks) is responsible for providing and enhancing the greenery of our City in a Garden. Beyond building green infrastructure, NParks is actively engaging the community to enhance the quality of our living environment.

National Research Foundation

The National Research Foundation (NRF) is a department within the Prime Minister’s Office. It sets the national direction for research and development (R&D) by developing policies, plans and strategies for research, innovation and enterprise. It also funds strategic initiatives and builds up R&D capabilities by nurturing research talent.

PUB, the national water agency

PUB, the national water agency, is responsible for the collection, production, distribution and reclamation of water in Singapore. Its mission is to ensure an efficient, adequate and sustainable supply of water.

Singapore Land Authority

The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Law, focusing on land resource optimisation. It is the national land registration authority, and is responsible for the management of State land and buildings, land sales, leases, acquisitions and allocation, developing and marketing land-related information and maintaining the national land information database.

Singapore Tourism Board

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is the leading economic development agency in tourism, one of Singapore’s key service sectors. STB aims to ensure that tourism remains a key economic pillar through long-term strategic planning in partnership with the public and private sector stakeholders.

SPRING Singapore

SPRING Singapore is responsible for helping Singapore enterprises grow and building trust in Singapore products and services. SPRING works with partners to help enterprises in financing, capability and management development, technology and innovation, and access to markets. It also develops and promotes an internationally-recognised standards and quality assurance infrastructure, and oversees the safety of general consumer goods in Singapore.

Urban Redevelopment Authority

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore’s land use planning and conservation authority. Its mission is to make Singapore a great city to live, work and play. URA strives to create a vibrant and sustainable city of distinction by planning and facilitating Singapore’s physical development in partnership with the community.

Workforce Singapore

Workforce Singapore (WSG) oversees the transformation of the local workforce and industry to meet ongoing economic challenges. WSG will promote the development, competitiveness, inclusiveness, and employability of all levels of the workforce. This will ensure that all sectors of the economy are supported by a strong, inclusive Singaporean core.
